Chronically online to make a living.

It’s taken me too long to get pen to paper - or rather, words to screen.

See, I’ll admit it: I’m a perfectionist. And for the past few weeks, I’ve been putting off sharing anything new, held back by a series of self-imposed barriers.

I’ve recently worked hard on crafting a new website - a space to showcase my work, attract clients for my freelance web design services, and serve as a digital home for myself.

But more than that, I wanted a new platform to host my blog.

If you’ve read my blog before, you might know I’m about halfway through my journey to bringing in revenue as a freelance web designer. So getting my website hot off the press sent my perfectionism into overdrive.

This is a huge risk - this is my livelihood - and the more I see, and the more I read, the more empowered I feel to take the alternative path, the road less tiled.

I’ve spent countless hours on Framer, playing with layouts and the CMS, trying to strike the perfect balance between readability and something that feels different - captivating.

But this weekend, I decided enough was enough. It was time to post. To share.

I’ve finally brought all my previous blog content over to my new website: www.katya.digital.

When I write I want it to be real and raw, to expose my vulnerabilities as a young person at the beginning of their career in business and design. The writing is about what interests me, impresses me, and pushes me as a designer. But how the blog looks, how it feels, how it opens on your device — that’s my livelihood. That’s my bread and butter.

Design is iterative. To improve, I have to be willing to throw away the idea of perfect.

So here it is: imperfect.

My new website

And my blog.

Now I’d love your help.

Tell me how it could be better. What am I missing? What are you missing?

It’s a webpage - it will change as I do, as the nature of my work does.

Tell me how it feels. Be honest. I’m new to this, and I know there’s a lot to learn.

So help me out, I’m all ears.

Let's stay in touch!
