While Binaural Beats have been shown to have a positive impact on attention and focus in those with ADHD, there is a lack of accessible tools that allow individuals with little to no knowledge of music production to create their own custom binaural beats in a way that appeals to users with ADHD.
In a world where digital distractions are constant, finding focus in the workplace has become increasingly challenging—especially for those with ADHD or anyone needing deep concentration. The goal was to create a non-digital tool that could support a structured, immersive work environment without adding to screen fatigue. Inspired by the science of binaural beats, the challenge was to design a tangible, intuitive device that enhances productivity while remaining simple, engaging, and free from the overwhelming nature of modern technology.
BIN(EAR) is an analog synthesizer designed to generate binaural beats, helping users enhance focus, concentration, and deep work sessions. The device uses oscillators to synthesize functional sound, offering adjustable parameters such as wave type, pitch, volume, frequency, and backing tracks to suit individual preferences. By stripping away unnecessary complexity, BINEAR provides an accessible, tactile approach to sound therapy—delivering the benefits of binaural beats without reliance on apps or screens.
